2025 ESRF-NEEL Day

Every year the Institut Néel presents its scientific activities involving large scale facilities.

Don't miss this opportunity and join us on 18th December for the NEEL-ESRF day that will take place at the ESRF Auditorium !

This year focus will be on science performed at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). This one-day event will be filled with scientific presentations on works performed in synergy between Institut Néel and the ESRF, the visits of the CRG beamlines FAMES and FIP, and many opportunities to discuss how the transversal axis "Very Large Instruments" can provide support for your next groundbreaking experiment.

Registration is free but mandatory !

Transversal Axis on Large Scale Facilities

The Institut Néel has a deep expertise in the use of large scale facilities (neutron sources, synchrotron radiation, high magnetic fields) that is rooted in the exceptional local environment: the ILL (Institut Laue Langevin), the ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility), the LNCMI (National High Magnetic Field Laboratory), and several others facilities only a step away from Grenoble (SOLEIL, LLB, Diamond, PSI, ...).

The Néel Institute plays a key role through the management of the beamlines of the French "Groupe de recherche collaborative" (CRG) at the ESRF and another instrument at the ILL. The Néel Institute plays the role of scientific and technical advisor on the instruments. The interest of Institut Néel in large-scale installations also involves the development of original dedicated instrumentation and data analysis, ambitious long-term collaborative projects, participation in large-scale instrument commissions, the co-supervision of students, etc.

The activity of the Institut Néel on large scale facilities is structured along its transversal axis on Very Large Instruments. The overall objective is to structure and promote actions related to large research infrastructures.
